View Full Version : Gallery questions - What or How?
I noticed that a few people have asked questions in the gallery regarding what products are used and also how you have done a technique so I thought I would start a thread where we can ask and answer questions here.

good thinking Lali...
Sammi you are asked me what was it that I used for the red boarder in my DREAMER LO - it is watercolour pencils, you just colour in with them and then use a brush slightly wet and go over the colourining and you get the look of water colour paints (hope that makes sense). I bought mine from target but I have also seen them in Big W and also newsagents.
Shaz - to answer your question about the lettering that I used in my TEDDY LO they are EK Success Mini ABC and Numbers they are great and the pack comes with upper and lower in both black on white and white on black.

LOL - I was there when Nic was working on the layout 'Motion Blur' and i asked the same thing thinking it was some cool scrapping product. Nearly fell out of my chair when she said gutter guard for $2 a roll. Clever spotting there Nic. Makes shopping at Bunnings a whole new experience instead of the normal boredom i have when i go with hubby lol.
Can't wait till Tony asks me to go there next time :D
Oh and Sammi thought you might like that :D

Lali - just answering your questions you left on my layouts. First up my 'I adore you' layout that is a Hambly overlay on the right, which I just added some flowers to ....the HS ghost ones you gave me :D
The 'picture perfect' layout has got a cut up photo sleeve on the photo. They are MAMBI self adhesive photo sleeves - I just cut out the writing on it and attached it to the photo. Hope this helps!!!!! :D
Thanks Hetty they are both gorgeous and I am glad you are enjoying using your stuff :D

Sharon how did you create the calendar template you have used for your cat calendar? Did you create your own template or download one from online somewhere?
admin
25-01-2008, 03:05 PM
Sharon,
I am pretty sure Sharon used the Maya road calendar that she got from the shop... correct me if im wrong sharon....;)
or are you refuring the the actual dates.... sorry confusing myself....
digi_gal
25-01-2008, 11:33 PM
Thanks Lorrie but I meant the actual calendar months like Janaury, February etc... Just wondered if Sharon created her own template or downloaded one from online somewhere and if so where from?
Sharon what paper is the bottom page of the bright eyes LO , are those florishes on the paper or are the stamps ??
sharon
08-02-2008, 10:27 AM
Yep Lorrie is spot on I used the maya road calender chipboard book for the base but I actually brought the calendar pages already printed up - I think the brand was Maisie Moo or Mo - will have a look if i kept the packet - had to trim them a bit to fit
sharon
08-02-2008, 10:31 AM
Jax-All the papers used on the Bright eyes layout are from Making Memories - just cant remember the actual name of the range off the top of my head

Julie- what's the liquid chalk marker you used on your LO scrapping on a budget? And what lettering did you use on those LO's?
I tried getting some liquid chalk the other day at spotlight and they don't have it anymore so if anyone can help I would love some, I will pay for the postage and the liquid chalk in advance...if you can help PM me :)
Julie H
09-02-2008, 07:46 AM
Suz - the liquid chalk is made by Francheville it's called Opaque Liquid Chalk - Broad nib ..........I purchased it at a newsagents store here in Rocky, haven't seen them in Spotlight before Lali - let me know how you go at a newsagents and if no luck I'll pick you one up from here in Rocky. I saw another brand the other day in Officeworks = not sure how good they are or how broad the nib is but it's another option.
The lettering on the layouts are American Crafts - have used their Thickers (pink felt ones on the first layout and white chipboard on the last layout) and also a small letter sticker made by them - remarks i think they're called.

Thanks Julie will check out the newsagents

lol - I swear I just made a post about this and voooosh it's gone ....losing the plot i think lol.
Suz - the marker is a thick pen style with a nib about an inch thick. You just swipe it on like paint but it is chalk so will leave a chalky residue on your fingers if you swipe it. It gets better when it dries but you'd still get a little residue even then. Not a prob though if it's in an album.
if i wanted to use white paint then I'd use my chalk marker - alot easier to just pop the lid and give a swipe - no clean up like paint.

Thanks heaps for the lovely comments on my 'little Samuel' layout ladies.
couple of questions were asked so will answer them in here.
Jules - the letters used for Samuel are by American Crafts - Remarks letter sticker book. You get a 'book' full of alpha's in four different colours both upper and lower case.
Angie - the bird rubons on this layout are Kaisercraft rubons.
