I had Anne-Marie, Alice and Mellany as my guesses to be Masters. I was wondering if Kathie Link might be close (there has been more of her stuff in recent issues and I thought...hmmm....LOL!)

Good to see Michelle Jamieson there, I like her stuff!

And Tammy has a very distinctive individual style.

I really thought Sarah Gladman, Ali Russell and you Nicole would be on the list so I am very suprised about that!

Being in QLD I won't get my mag for a while :( and I am busting to see everyones stuff.

totally agree with you all... Definetely thought Nic and Hetty were really contenders, but as I have said in the past, their choices in their publications have always made me think "what the???" Besides, you 2 are definete masters in my eyes, and we all love you here so don't be disheartened.
I haven't seen a lot of Ali's, Sarah's, Binx's or Alice's stuff of late but knowing their past styles, they have always been amazing. Well done Binxy and Alice.... you go girls oh and good luck with the babies Binx :eek: see you learn something new every day :p

Thanks chicky's for all your votes of confidence but when the likes of Sarah Gladman and Ruth Clarke don't make it I feel I have buckleys to none chance. I am really happy though with my two HM's both for my single and double layouts.

I had Nic, Hetty and Sarah penned from the start to be masters this year, even before I knew they entered lol. I honestly do not know how I won, as I never thought my scrapping was anywhere in the league to be up there with you girls.

Congrats to everyone who entered.

I am hanging out to get the masters mag, or even just see it! I am excited to see all the HM and what the other Masters came up with. SO excited for AM!

Got my mag yesterday and had a good look at it this morning over breakfast.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm, I am wondering what's the deal here, there are probably 2 out of the however many there are that I looked at all of the entries and thought yep they are outstanding for all of them. Most to me looked like the calender was great or the layout was great or the keepsake was great not all of them were great.

Saying that (and who am I) I love Alice's entry and hold on whilst I go and get my mag................ back again......... and Lynette's entries. I thought all of their samples were just that bit out of the oridinary. With the others, liked some of their samples but not all of them...........

Hetty, loved your layout pages, just beautiful work and I thought in the HC's there were better entries than in the masters section.

Just as well I'm not a judge hey............

Well done to Nic and Hetty for both having the courage to stand up and put their work on the line........... that takes guts and determination and I hope that both of you will do the same next year!!!!

I thought exactly the same thing about last years mag, a lot of the HM's were so much nicer.......but beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

I do think though they should have a panel of judges, half of them who are in the know and half of them who arent, that way it would be a lot more fair to the contenders but having said that......the way they do it now i suppose is whatever will sell the mag the best, that is what their priority is!

In any case I am truly honoured to have gotten two HM's out of this, also this comp made me think outside the box, I ended up with some really nice projects and I learned a thing or two. :)

Depending on the challenges I think I will give it a go again next year but I do think I will need to change my style, my current one is just not hacking it so to speak and I am ready for a change, maybe that is why my mojo has left me....for new things to come..LOL!

I love your creations - ya know i do - notice i even layered and cut out for your challenge in the Des CC in your honour - and i am not fond of all that cuttin!!!

Dont change your style as it is just beautiful - seriously no one can do your style like you!!!

But maybe just do something different for the mag thing COS WE LOVE YOU

HETTY, don't you dare go changing your scrap style just because they didn't pick you this year. No one know's what they are looking for and next year might be the year that they are looking for the gorgeous layered 3Ding work of yours. I was talking with Kathie last night and she said that the past two years she's been shortlisted for the masters and never received a HM and look at her now a 2008 Master. Please hun, I'm begging you, don't change what's not broke.

Awww shucks - thanks Nic and Lorrie, you girls make me blush. I wasn't thinking of changing just because they didn't pick me but just because I think I need a change, a freshen up maybe, all my stuff is starting to look the same I feel, maybe still keep with my original style but not so much of it, iykwim.

And for the record it wasn't sour grapes either, I mean look at the Masters their stuff is stunning, original and creative, my work just wasn't up there this year and I fully understand and accept that, like I have said before, I have learnt a lot but still have heaps more to learn.

Thanks heaps though for all your support, have felt a bit flat scrapping wise for the past month or so, trying hard to get inspiration and enthusiasm back.

got my mag today, and have to say mmmmm, not overly inspiring, sure few nice projects and I love what Kathie Link has done but overall I pretty disappointed.

Some of the Masters work is based on sketch's, while there is nothing wrong with that, I would of rathered of seen original work, and one of the singles I've seen before (in her gallery about 2 months before the competition was announced too) but what can you do about it.

Well I got mine today and feel the same as Nic...not much inspiration really a little disappointed got more out of the HM that the masters themselves but hey that is my opinion
