Just though it would be nice to find out how other got in Scrapping seeing as everyone has their own story to tell!
Well I first got into Scrapbooking in 2006. I had just moved to Wagga Wagga from Brisbane as Nathan had got into the RAAF, Lachlan had just turned 1, I was only 19 and had just moved out of home. I had no friends or family, was pretty lonely so I decided to join the base playgroup and craft group. I was introduced to Creative Memories and my LO's in the beginning were pretty basic (think 4 photos, matted, that's about it).
After a year we moved back to Brissie and I didn't touch scrapbooking again but then we moved to Townsville last January and I picked it up again when I joined the craft group here! This time though I found ladies who used lumpy bumpy stuff and have been introduced to a whole new medium!
And now recently I've found the online world of forums, Scrap stores online, Sketches, Cybercrops etc...
I just can't wait til the day I can scrap with some really good scrappers like yourselves!
:D

I started because I wanted to do 21st books for each of my girls, one done and one to go.
That was earlier, but now I am hooked, :eek:love it to bits and love what I create and have some really nice friends now, you know who you are:p

i started 10 years ago. My besty was bugging me to come with her and said I would love it. I never started with CM so I was straight in with the lumpy bumpy... Every Tuesday night we went to a ladies house (sharon, who became Scrapbook Mania and now 5 kids and a dog) and was an all nighter and with no kids... boy did I spend some cash....I had to have it all....
2003 I decided to start my own home based business and well here I am today.... Still here driving you nuts and still have the same focus. To provide you with cheap as possible scrap supplies....
I started about 7 years ago when a friend became a CM consultant and was hooked immediately. It took me about 2 years to become bored with CM and another 2 years to undo all the CM brain-washing  and start to use lumpy/bumpy stuff (but even now I'm quite conservative when it comes to that).
I haven't had much time to do scrapbooking this year and I miss it.

a work colleague brought in an album that his wife had completed - she was a cm consultant. i loved the idea of 'jazzing' up photos so i signed up, with his wife, to host a party. that was back in late 2002. i dabbled in cm stuff for a couple of yrs.
then my scrapping was put on the back-burner for about 3 yrs whilst i changed jobs and went thru the house-building process.
i got my passion back in 2007 and had to familiarise myself with the trends and products. am loving it now! :D

I can narrow it down to one particular reason and that is of course the one and only Sammi. She had been scrapping for years and while I thought her work was just beautiful, I NEVER thought I had it in me and therefore just wasnt interested. I have another friend who was into scrapping a little and her and Sammi where having a D & M about it this day and so we decided that Sam would run a class with just the two of us. WELL. What was this wonderful world that I had been missing out on? I think the beautiful LO I completed that day coupled with Sam and my other friends enthusiasm just got me hook, line and sinker. I too must have everything Lorrie. I love the simple and I love the extravagant.
I am now scrapping each and every Saturday arvo with my 9 yo DD, or my friends or by myself (I don't really care if anyone is there or not LOL). I have been going to classes once a month and we recently held our own mini retreat with just a few friends and are hoping to make that a regular occurance as well.
I am also very proud of the support from my family for this sometimes expensive hobby. They really get a kick out of the finished product.:)
