every year without a doubt I get a cold, but not the regular ones, with the kids getting sick I get what they get, but 10 times worse, to the point where I spend the next 48 hours in bed and look a mess, Shane has to take time off work to look after the boys and I.

Well I thought I had escaped the damned cold this year, the younger 2 got it bad when I went to Sydney for the weekend to watch Pink and then Josh was in Bed from Thursday Afternoon to lunch time Friday, SO I think thats where it started, I feel SO sick!

I wanna chop my nose off, my head hurts, my neck is so sore, basically my whole body hurts!

We went to Sydney yesterday to go to my fave scrap shop then the Stitches and Craft Fair, went into the city to Hobby Co and then to the airport so Shane could watch the planes, and as the day wore on I was feeling worse and worse.

I think what I am saying is that I HATE BEING SICK!

Hope that you have a short term bug Anthea that knocks you around for 24-48 hours and then you are back fighting fit again. Head colds and aches and pains are the pits.

ahhh Anthea, I've been off and on with a cold/flu since April. I'm totally over it. Very much in sympathy with you there.

I think my immune system is just totally shot right now. I don't get time to rest when I do get sick, and with Dea still waking for a feed I haven't had a decent few hours of sleep in god know's how long.

So mate I agree with you I HATE BEING SICK TOO.

poor girls ...there is nothing worse than the mummy in house getting sick ...so i hope if passes sooner than later for both of you.

This is what i do in my house ....i burn 100% peppermint oil in my house at the first signs of sniffles from the kids ...and touch wood ..none of us have had a cold in a while .....just thought i might share this with you ...worth a try ....

but becareful it is pretty strong stuff ... don't put any on to the skin ...i also put a couple of straight drops onto a tissue (fold it up)and pop the tissue into the kids pocket of their uniforms .... Gemilla teacher is now converted too ...she drops a couple of drops at the door way of the class room ....i have a giggle when i over heard some mums going ...who is eating peppermint ...he he he

thanks for the tip Sammi, will have to keep that one in mind when I go shopping and see if I can find any oil.

anything to keep these dreaded yucks away I'm all for. I really put a stop to mine by eating vit C tablets (following the instructions on the bottle of course) and panadol. While it doesn't stop it from coming it does reduce the serverity of it for me.

Also be careful if you do take Vit C and you are on the pill apparently it can reduce the effects of the pill working properly. Learnt this from a mid wife that I saw when I was preg with Char. Happened to her twice.

at least the caughing has almost stopped! Joshie seemed a lot better today till he went to bed at about 4 this arvo! just woke him up for a shower!

Been drinking coke to clear the throat and OJ for the Vit C, oh and the odd Cold anf Flu Tablet helps too! atleast my head isnt pounding anymore

you can get it from the chemists or the health food shops ...really easy to come by ...just make sure though it is 100% oil (preferrblable in a dark bottle ..i was toldthat oils in clear bottles go lose there form)..cause the do sell peppermint essence which is oil diluted down some ridiculous amount ...and is not effective

Thanks Sammi. I will have to remember to have a look next time I am near a chemist. Don't tend to venture near a chemist very often.

Hope you get better soon. Try a hot bath in vick's vapor. You can find in the baby section at the store. When your bath is running you just pour a capfull in the water and that will help your nose. Try a cup of hot tea with honey in it. That will help your throat. Get well soon!!!!:)
